I use both ASSP and Exchange 2007 and both live in harmony. Exchange didnt cost 
me $8000 either!! I paid $1000 for software and then $50 per user. Cant beat it 
if you want to sync to Windows Mobile smarthphones.
 
Just my 50 cents worth :)
