But we already know that Polycoms work with Asterisk, so what does this
give us that we don't already have?

I contend that my point remains relevant. Polycom is *not* saying that
thair phones work with Asterisk, only with ABE. The fact that the two
softwares are (nearly) identical is irrelevant from Polycom's
perspective.
