Ian, Duane: Both of you make interesting points!!! This thread is very enlightening to me and also passionate to each of us :).
>From a guy (me) who is pretty conservative when it comes to spending... someone who chooses the cheapest cell phones and buys a new one every 4 years... and someone who trashes Macs by calling it "Mac-in-trash" ... and someone who is absolutely against Macs & Steve Jobs business model in the first place .... now gets all turned on with an iPhone and OS X... and wants one... well... then the iPhone has to be a little bit more special than being released first to NA :). I was quite impressed by OS X -- but the cost of hardware did not justify my expense to purchase one. I hear what both of you are saying... but when a person walks into a store and buys a product "LEGALLY" -- at reputable stores in shopping malls and other places... raises "curiosity bells" as in "What's going on here?". My sister walks into a shop, gets an iPhone without having to sign an AT&T contract... and the store is a reseller of AT&T services... simply tells me Apple is not forcing people to sign a contract - and wants its iPhone in the hands of the masses. There is more than what meets they eye here in terms of legality and as impressive as OS X is... and as impressive as how some people have ported Asterisk to OS X -- simply tells me you can LITERALLY RUN Asterisk on the iPhone (theoretically speaking). The concept here which has truly turned me on is: SIP Client, OS X, GSM QUAD Band Cell Phone, and Asterisk Server... all in the palm of your hand!!! Now that's dynamite! Just me thinking out loud! Cheers! Reza. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
