Henry, I agree. I've used the PAP2 and 3102 without issues (I have several of these). I went with the SPA112 since I figured that Cisco almost had ATA's almost figured out ...but apparently these were a complete "do-over", and not a good one at that :-(

I have a colleague that has installed one internally behind a freeswitch, that works great, but my experience NAT+ITSP has been just rotten.

The PAP2's and the Sipura 2102's have gone the way of the dodo since the SPA112's showed up. Part of the reason for my post is to give folks fair warning about these devices which are not ready for prime time.

I definitely recommend the PAP2/SPA3102, mine has been working with no
problems since 2009.

HT702 recently as well, so far no issues.

Best thing to do with it is stick it under the tires of your SUV.
Unfortunately, I've nothing better to suggest off the top of my head
at the moment.

Hey Taug'ers

Has anyone had success with the Cisco SPA112 device, or is it just me?

As far as I'm concerned - the Cisco SPA112 is a complete lemon, stay
far
far away!

Hi,

I installed one for a client that had a local PBX. My initial response
was
that it was fantastic. The quick setup took a few seconds, cordless
phone
set worked flawlessly and I've heard 0 complaints in the past 3 months.
I then bought one for myself, when I moved to a new Bell-free house.

The first SPA-122 was dead after 3 days, no tone, no dhcp, nothing.

The replacement SPA-112 never worked over NAT. I received incoming
audio,
but no outbound audio ever made it out, (Yes, this is the reverse of a
typical NAT issue). Debugging is nearly impossible since the debug
option
didn't record any logs.

I gave up and slapped PIAF on a Dell server I had floating around and
registered it there and it's been working ok for 3 weeks

I'll never buy another one again, that's for sure.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a ATA adapter that works nicely?

Chad
