Just my two cents. We are in the design phase (drawing board) of an admin and an end user web-based (php) panel for astlinux. The end user hopefully will address: -voicemail management (play, delete, forward to email) -change password for the user (the user is the extension #) -take a look at his own CDR (cannot be modified by end user) -small personal address book
we are thinking about flat file manipulation or sqlite usage. mainly because we will be developing small mini-itx iPBXs that will carry a 2.5inch hard disk for voicemail and other stuff, so sqlite (using asterisk in realtime) sounds to us like a good thing, but this is our personal view and may not reflect community directions. Like everyone in this post said, it is time to have something to focus on end user experience rather than do a have-it-all interface for admins (however this is also a good thing to address). Our interface will be freeware/gpl, like many others and when we (astlinux community) settle on a way to go, me and my partner may as well shift directions and code for what we decide to do here. And we do have the time to do it, we just need to settle on a todo-list separated (our personal view) in: dialplan configuration User configuration Trunk/interfaces etc. etc. This thread is great news for ASTLinux....hopefully this will give birth to a great thing!!!
