I haven't tried out a linear PSU as yet. That was based on some comments I had seen in a thread some time back. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=4439&postcount=6 However, in light of this thread, I talked with one of our hardware engineers at work (who formerly worked with Prime Digital - the manufacturers of the Wadia line of audiophile CD players), who said that it actually might help even though he couldn't give any guarantees. With that in mind we managed to dig up a fairly robust +5A/2A linear PSU from some corner of the lab. Once I get a chance to build a connector that bridges the output of the Linear PSU with the input of the SB2, I will give it a shot and let you know how it sounds. Hopefully it will be over the weekend.
