I just did a quick test with CDSpeed (which counts errors from CD-ROM drives...)
A brand new, unplayed CD had zero errors (at 25x speed) An old CD from 1998 that has been played maybe 20 times had 4 CU errors across its surface. It is not visually damaged as far as I can see. I was surprised at this - I was expecting more errors... If it wasn't for the cost I'd buy one of those DED units (see earlier post) and slap it across my SB digital output. I wonder if anyone has one of these boxes? -- Phil Leigh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phil Leigh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=85 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24957 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
