the $2000 price of a Transporter barely gets into the budget zone of readers of The Abolute Sound, or most Stereophile items. My Classé amp is barely audiophile to a lot of folks.

The point is that the OP was hoping for a lower priced, less feature rich Transporter-lite. I don't think it would be lower priced, as it would not be lower cost, so there is no point.

Now to speculate, take the Transporter knob and one display, a half inch thick with wifi and two way feedback, and that would be a great remote. Battery power, charged like a power toothbrush, and it might sell well at $300 each
