If pure, uncorrelated noise was such a problem my old "LP to cassette" tapes wouldn't sound astonishingly good when played back on my Nak Dragon. SNR can't be much more than 70dB, although one can easily hear waaaay down into the noise. They actually sound very transparen (detailed, realistic, true to life) -better than most consumer CD-players. I'm confident that the industry will make a quantum (!) leap when they stop their lazy practises and start measuring components in live and operating systems (with messy cables, crappy power, long interconnects, ground loops, etc).
