Don't :)

I know the Mission 753s really well. They are, in some ways, a
genuinely good speaker, but they are, in others, shockingly coloured.
They struck a good price, got excellent reviews and sold well.

They will be alarmingly different to 803s, and please don't buy 803s
just because they sort out things you don't like about your 753s. That
could be a really expensive mistake. Your 753 do some things really
well, and you could lose what you like(d) about them by getting 803s.

So my advice stays the same - find your dream system, and deal with the
practicalities. With 753s you may have speakers that could work well
with valves - I've never had a chance to try that, but think it could
work well - so they might be easy to upgrade via that route. If you go
a Tact (is it Lyngdorf or something now?) route then I suspect the 753s
will be a disaster that wouldn't last a single session!

And to flame highdudgeon: yes, solid-state amps may be as good as
solid-state gets; if that's the standard you are willing to accept then
surely the 'audiophile' forum is not quite the one for you ;)
