Well, I'd really prefer if it were in my head, since it doesn't make a
lot of rational sense. I've certainly experienced fooling myself (and
others) about audio many times (with hi-fi, and in the recording
studio), and I wish more audiophiles would admit this. Back in the
day, my engineer friends and I would kid about the producer's knob.
The producer would say something like "can you make the drums louder?"
and knowing it was the wrong approach for the mix, you say sure, and
have them adjust a fader on the console that did absolutely nothing.
It usually worked.

Nevertheless, I've also experienced differences that were easily
identifiable in blind A/B tests. I did not do this with the ISO pads
since in my quick test, the difference sounded better. I'd like to be
completely scientific about everything in my system, but honestly,
there is only so much time in the day for a $25 item. So I'll just say
that I'm happy to get rid of my CD player and my ISO pads. ;-)

Heh. Okay then. Anyone care to argue with this? How many people on
this forum thought that there were some inherent sonic advantages to
playing music off of a hard drive? Not that the other advantages
aren't enough, mind you.
