I'm looking for some help from the community - I've messed something up
and it isn't obvious what to do to fix it !

Over the last couple of days I'd recorded some sweeps and got to the
stage where I could try the EQ plugin for Room Correction. The setup
went without a hitch except where I was swapping cables and connected a
live mike into the amp instead of the sound card - ouch !

This evening was the first chance to do some proper listening to the
various EQ filter settings. Noticing that there is a new updated
version of the ImpulsePrep code I decided to reinstall that and rebuild
the filters before any serious listening.

That's where it started to go wrong - several things happened which
individually or in combination have broken something.

First of all I had a popup saying there was a Microsoft Security Update
to the .NET framework, so I let it put that on.

I rebuilt the filters (appeared to be fine) and placed them where the
older ones were.

I forgot to stop and restart the server. I also reinstalled the plugin
code, although that appeared to be the same as the old version.

Then I did some listening, at which point there was a very brief power
cut.

The PC rebooted, the network came back up, and I resumed listening.
First difference is that the selection menu for the different EQ
settings has changed. Previously the selected item had an [X] and the
unselected ones a [ ] as shown on the SB. Now there is a circular
radio button-style control, either with a blob in it or without.

Curious.

Then I discovered that the tracks I had been listening to before don't
actually play. They don't give an error, but pressing play just shows
the title and the timer, but it doesn't actually make a sound or
advance the timer. The track can be stopped and restarted, but nothing
actually happens.

On the server I can change the filetype mappings to be handled by the
built-in processor and then such tracks play just fine, but if any of
the filetypes with the 'Inguz' suffix are used it simply doesn't play.
Mine are all .flac files. I've seen the error message where a file type
can't actually be played, but I'm not getting that in this case.

So, I've shutdown and restarted the server. I've shutdown and
restarted Windows (as you do...). I've physically unplugged the SB
from the power supply and restarted it. I've switched the file types
to the 'normal' set (all works fine), and then retried the
'Inguz-enabled' ones (no sound, no actual track progress).

-Something- accounts for this, and the candidates are the .NET updates,
the new install of the tools, or some side effect of having the power
drop.

Any suggestions ?
