You say that running ethernet across the house is not an option. But
CAT5 cable is pretty thin, and it would be a very unusual house indeed
if there isn't *some* way of routing it. The kind of money you're
proposing spending to sort out this problem is way more than it would
cost even a professional installer to route some CAT5 cable across you
house.

And once it's done, you gain the benefit of keeping the noisy computer
out of the listening room. Even a computer with no fans still needs a
hard disk, and even a Samsung Spinpoint running in "silent" mode still
makes some audible noise.
