Actually, I don't think I do have a specific problem with my network. 
It is extremely straightforward, it is by the books, and it works.  I
am also not the only one with these drop-out problems.

Yes, it is in their documentation.  My point was simply that the caveat
ought to be stronger.  The fact is, from what I gather, the wireless
system cannot be reliable in all environments.  As discussed in a help
thread, this could even boil down to a neighbor's wireless telephone.

Anyway, there is no sense in paying for a consultant.  The work is
done.  I can plant a computer on my rack and ethernet it to the the
Squeezebox.  This is entirely painless for me.  I noted that Pfarrel
etherneted all the way across his house.  For various reasons -- not
the least of which is the expense, which I find unreasonable -- a
couple feet of ethernet is easier for me.  Besides, then I get to use
iTunes, too, and I find it easier to browse music in iTunes.  Best of
both worlds!
