sigh !! that's what I was afraid of ... so I guess there isn't a way to
get HDCD data off a CD using a software based approach after all .... 

BTW is HDCD even alive anymore? Its almost impossible to find any info
on the Microsoft website anymore.

WRT to bit perfect burning, try Burrrn (
http://www.burrrn.net/?page_id=4 )on a PC or Roxio Toast Titanium 7 or
8 on a Mac. They both work fine, and the HDCD info is retained in each
case.

I guess unless someone can come up with something conclusive to the
contrary, we should terminate this and all other threads regarding
software based HDCD decoding - we seem to be going in circles ! (I
think a couple of threads at head-fi and hydrogen audio have also come
to similar conclusions)
