Hi Cardinal,

Have you considered the racket a laptop actually makes?

I tried this myself, seemed like an idea, use an IR remote to control
the laptop, etc...

Then I almost lost it. The laptops fan drove me crazy, turned it off
and waited for the flames.

Then the incessant "tick tick tickity tick" of the hard disk started to
get to me...

Then the screensaver caused the music to hiccup.

Disabled that, put the hard disk to sleep, then I notices the switching
power supply / other components causing interference in other
components.

Also I couldn't stand the bright screen on the thing, and with no
screensaver (disabled because windows seemingly cannot deal well with a
blank screen), I had to close the lid. This put the thing into power
savings / sleep mode and all stopped. I then disabled that also, but
now with everything else off, and with the top down, heat became a
serious issue from the CPU, which has to be left on.

I packed it up, placed it back into the computer room where it belongs,
and spun some vinyl.

I then bought an SB3, problem solved, at least from the point of
computer streamed music into sound room, more tweaks to come.

That was my experience...

Cheers!
