This is rather a big proviso.

Sure, most amps will sound very similar under certain operating conditions.

But, and it's a big but, not all amps will cope will the operating
conditions required to reproduce all music faithfully.

For example, consider you have programme material with a lot of
exaggerated bass and percussive sounds. Your amplifier will require a
lot of current capability and sufficient slew rate at low frequencies to
deliver the required signal.

I think this is true for limited values of "all" :)
