I don't have a scope but plan to get one fairly soon so can try then. I doubt that the music is masking unsynched clocks. The auido quality is the best I have ever heard. And it is only with particular CDs (and very much a minority) that I hear the problem.
I do have an unmodified Squeezebox, and I did not have this problem with the DAC before I added the clocks. I will try it with just the DAC clock and see what I get. Also, I will try the modded squeezebox with another DAC.
