ooops you are right!
Jeronimo - you want to get those attenuators set to your max listening
level. That will ensure you get the best from the digital volume
control.
In my experience, a well-implemented 24-bit level control (SB, TACT
etc) is better than an average analogue pot or even a
switched-resisitor ladder or stepped transformer. There's just less to
go wrong (contacts, wipers etc)
