OK, lets more on. Seems others with Apple files have seen this. I know
you don't want to re-rip everything so let's think of trying this.

Find the track, songs, or CD that does this the most and with the most
noise. When you have that item, rip it to another format and see what
it sounds like. Most specific do not use Apple of iTunes as the
ripper.

Let us know how that sounds. If all is well, the bad news is the only
solution seems another format which means re-ripping your library. If
its the same, we will start looking elsewhere. Having split the output
without any change really only leaves the source material (and how its
handled and decoded), the DAC, or the SB3 itself. Good Luck.
