Or, if you can solder well, just added the appropriate resistors into
the XLR plugs. You need 4 resistors per channel, and for calculating
the required values you'll find an Excel spreadsheet in the
DIYPassiveAttenuation wiki page
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?DIYPassiveAttenuation).  Total
cost: under a dollar (plus possibly a few frayed nerves as you try to
squeeze them into an XLR plug - it's a tight fit, but can be done)
