Reading Red Book audio is an inexact science, all audio players (and many CD ROM drives) perform on-the-fly error correction which is designed to prevent audible dropouts but which can lower sound quality on a misread. Applications like EAC go to extreme lengths to detect these problems and actually force a re-read rather than simply accept the "guess" from the drive. -- radish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ radish's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=77 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41268 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
