One of the things you really want to control by using bass traps and
similar stuff is to bring down the reverberation time in the bass, if
this is too high you can readily hear the bass waves shattering around
the room...

My humble opinion is that you can't control room reverberation time in
the bass region with electronics, you can very much help out with
flattening peaks, but you can't fix everything.

If the walls are flexible they will store energy and release the energy
back into the room, this may actually be quite audible. You may fix this
by stiffening the walls. I can't see how to use DPS to correct this...
How can electronics correct for sound waves that are released into the
room when it's supposed to be silence?

Don't get me wrong. The DSP products represent great and fantastic
opportunities, and I'm really looking forward to trying out some of the
new Lyngdorf products at home. I just don't believe they're the "silver
bullet" that magically fix everything with the room.
