If you've got your heart secretly set on doing a bit of retail therapy, then just look at new speakers. :) (But not floorstanders IMO.)
If you're really wanting to understand the problem and do the optimal thing to correct it, you need to get radical and move the whole system into a bigger room. (Temporarily of course!) IF that nails it you know that the current system including speakers is able to deliver the detail and separation you need, but the room is holding it back. Again IF that is the case you will need to look at DSP (EQ or DRC) to sort out the room. (Even simply a funny in-room frequency response can by itself seem to "hide" detail that is there. See the Inguz add-on for slimserver/squeezecenter at inguzaudio.com.) If a different room DOESN'T nail it then you can move on to new-speaker-retail-therapy with fewer feelings of self-indulgence and guilt. :) Darren -- darrenyeats SB3 / Inguz -> Krell KAV-300i (pre bypass) -> PMC AB-1 Dell laptop -> JVC UX-C30 mini system ------------------------------------------------------------------------ darrenyeats's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10799 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43944 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
