I use EQ in the bass-only (<=200Hz). I prefer to leave the higher
frequencies alone - something I decided after long-term listening.

I found by tweaking the overall level of the bass relative to the
untouched higher frequencies (as well as EQing the humps and troughs
themselves) I could achieve an overall improved speaker positioning. So
I get help throughout the frequency range whilst modifying only the
bass.
