No, and given Apple's secrecy and closed nature, there may never be. DRSonusFaber;331199 Wrote: > I'm sorry but what is a 24/96 file? CDs are 16-bit depth, 44.1 kHz sampling (16/44.1). High-resolution music has 24-bit depth and higher sample rates - 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz and 192 kHz are common but there are other arbitrary values. The Duet will handle 16/44.1 and 24/48 files without issue. It should play 24/96 but through dropping samples (decimation) and this isn't the proper way to do it. The Transporter will play 24/96 properly and I believe 24/88.2 as well now. The Transporter DAC can't handle sample rates higher than 96 kHz. Now as for where you can find this "beyond CD" material...it's hard. Hackers have gotten this material off of DVD-A discs and SACD discs (but this is a real hack, you have to essentially re-record it). DVD-A and SACD are dead, so this source is gone. There's a very limited selection of high-res material made direct from the source available for download from various sites currently. Note high-res material and file type are independent provided the file type supports it. You can have 24/96 FLAC files for example. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51311 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
