The latest versions of the TP firmware do allow for an external "digital
effects" loop, so at first glance this could be done.  I'm not sure,
however, if it would work with an upsampler in the loop.  If Sean or
someone else doesn't pipe up and say yes or no, I have both a
transporter, and an external jitter reduction/upsampler that I could
try...

However, I do agree with SuperQ, the SPDIF interface itself is a jitter
source, while the intrinsic jitter of the TP is that of it's clock,
supply and signal routing.  I find it extremely difficult to believe
that any external box would do anything more than increase the jitter. 
There's virtually no chance that it would result in a decrease....
