Good point about the spdif interfaces being an unneccessary source of jitter. Duh! Guess I was just asking cuz I'll likely get a DIP 4896 Upsampler for my soon-to-modded Oppo (for digital hirez output of pcm'd SACD at 88.2k and of course DVD-A at 96k) and wondered if it would add any value in the meantime.
