It's a matter of context (in reply to rodney ), in this particular user case it's a bad idea, read the first post again (out from the TP and in again ). The TP is a clever work around of the problem "clock signal extracted from s/pdif", combine the source and the DAC no spdif interface no problem. The problem that a jitter box (if working thanks ar-t) is designed to fix, don't exist in this case.
In other cases it might work, connected in between a jittery spdif source and a dac, assuming that it is one the units that is working properly. A working dejittering device between a bad source and the TP as dac migth work to, But this tread is about taking the already ok internal signal out of the TP and in again. The Meridian 518 is also a sample rate converter with adjustabale dither ? and it can do some other things to. I also have Meridian gear and have trust in the quality of it. -- Mnyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55160 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
