I like to use the volume control of the DuetController since its handy and I have my players synchronized around the house. I have the players volumes synchronized as well, to allow this.
When the players are using synchronized volume it just possible to "normalize" the players to each other by the pre-amp dampening, which will lower the volume on my SB3 to play at the same level as my Duet Reciever.
