What in the world is a "digital preamp"? Does this phrase even have any
meaning? Does it mean run the analog signal through an ADC, multiply the
bits, and the output the result through a DAC? Does it mean an analog
preamp controlled by a digital thing? My Classe amp's remote control
only has one-bit control, the remote has only Louder and Softer buttons.
It could mean PCM control of a binary amplifier and a filter stage, like
Class-D power amp.

There are probably other possibilities.
