I don't follow you... I *have* Dish Network service with a "VIP622" model tuner and I wrote that response while looking at my own TV screen, to verify that I had the setting.
Are you saying that you have cable now, not Dish, but that you are considering getting Dish? If you cable company told you specifically to change it to PCM mode, that tells me they know what they're talking about. I would keep looking for the setting, and if you can't find it maybe call them back. Forget about the amp, it has nothing to do with it... an amp is a really dumb device that just sends power to the speakers.
