I too am a bit confused. A source, like a satellite receiver usually has one digital output, and an analog output. Normally you must activate one in the menu, but its not recommended to use both at the same time. The digital output is a normal coax, you can use any rca interconnect for this output. There are no such thing really as "a digital cable", its all hype....or its a Toslink output, in which case you need a Toslink cable. This is Toslink, and I guess is what you have : http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/pdf/product_brochures/722_brochure.pdf In the receivers menu, under sound options you usually have a choice of : Analog out PCM out (2 channel) 5.1 digital out (for connection to a home theater receiver)
Here you choose the pcm, or stereo option, whatever its labeled. Now connect the Toslink cable from digital out on the receiver to your Transporters Toslink digital input. Turn the receiver on, make sure the volume is at 100% with the remote for the receiver. Now turn on the Transporter and you get sound. -- Anne Squeezebox 3 > Stereovox XV2 > Bryston B100-DA SST > Martin Logan Aeon I ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Anne's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60815 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
