Sean. Yes, I'm considering getting a dish network as I was misinformed by our cable provider that we were 100% digital. On a thread, in this forum I believe, I was told to look for the "pcm only" option. I did and it's just not there. I was hooking up via the optical output of the Cable box to the optical input in the transporter. Well, nothing worked so I went higher up the ladder and found a more knowledgeable technician and he gave me the skinny that charter cable is in fact not all digital and what I was attempting to do was impossible. The optical connection is not functional.
So, that's why I was fielding the question to see if anyone has hooked a dish network box digitally to the transporter. I would like to hear first hand it works not just from the provider. I live on the edge of the earth (Oregon coast) and it is difficult to get informed answers here.
