let me get thus right are you saying that the cheap standard AC-DC convertor plug in type is inert to all forms of Harmonic Noise on the AC? Because what i am saying that my house AC is noisy and variable, measured not guessed. And by fitting a power regenerator to the line feeding the HI-FI I noticed a remarkable clarity. Previously my dealer had given me several power cables to try and i couldnt hear any difference between them, but on fitting the power regenerator I did. The CD improved, turntable improved and the Squeezebox improved. The best way of describing it is that i can hear more and can run the system at lower volumes to get the same quality of sound. Both the phonostage and the Squeezebox use the small plug in AC-DC power supply type and the THD measured has dropped to 0.4% from 2.3%. I work on medical diagnostic instumentation in hospitals and it's not the first time that we have had problems from noisy AC causing fluctations on our measurements in our DC circuitry. Now if it can affect that type of kit it stands to reason that it must affect other kit including HIFI. Ps I rather have TAG than a Rolex. -- c3p0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ c3p0's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20721 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52348 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
