So basiclly we are in agreement, noisy AC will give noisy DC, the level
of that noise in the ouput is dependant upon the design, construction
of the Power Supply and therefore we can expect the low power PSU's
suplied with the likes of some phono stages, cheaper DACs and the
Squeezebox to suffer output noise on the DC more than the more
expensive and better power supply of the Amp if the AC feed is Noisy

The Power Plant Premier is basically an AB amp that converts the AC to
DC and uses expensive filters to remove the incoming AC noise. It then
uses the clean DC stored in some Big capacitors to Power an amp fed
with a small sinsusoidal wave which is then amplifies it to give the
regenerated AC output at 235V 50Hz. This can then be used to feed your
cheaper PSU's and your better AMP and CD player.
