As far as I understand, the only "proper" protocol is the statistical
hypothesis testing framework (Bayesian). But it is not used in audio, we
use null hypothesis framework, instead (which produces very poor
results).

I guess we are bound to believe/not people we trust on this. Or our own
ears.
