HI, Sound to me we all are missing the point:
As Phil proved to me, DIFFERENCE ARE AUDIBLE (and you could also measure it) even between two playback of the same file, not depending by the file or streaming format! Is hard to realize, but is true. If we agree on this, we must accept that between a playback of the FLAC and the WAV version of the same file ARE differences, you could not avoid it, and are audible too! At least since you are not beliving that IF A <> A1 AND A1 <> B, THEN A = B ...mmmh... At this point, what we are discussing is "quality" of the differences, in other words if: a) differences between the playback of FLAC and WAV version of the same file are somehow 'more affecting' the perceived quality than the one between two playback of the same version b) this kind of "differences between differences" are "systemic" (means they always produce the same perceived effect on SQ, so you could recognise it every time you play the same file). BE CAREFUL: A does not implies B, so if B is false this not prove A is false too! This involve: 1. difference itself 2. ability of the equipment (and room) to reproduce it. 3. capability of the listener to perceive it. Maybe someone could evaluate differences in itself (i.e. analyzing the ADM results)but not me, until this, we could only use an empiric approach, with a HUGE error margin! We are going to prove nothing to anyone, but maybe having some clearer and shared idea about. Let's we try the "proper" DBT and see what happen!
