The ADAM A7's are up and running in my living room. Out of the box, I'd say they are quite impressive!
They've been reviewed a million times in the pro audio press, so I won't attempt another review here, but nonetheless.... Sound wise... Something about the upper registers...they are simply effortless. Listen to Allison Krauss. Her (wonderful) voice can often sound pinched and piercing. Here it sounds like Allison Krauss. Super! I could go down a list of recordings that bring the A7's virtues to light compared to anything I've owned, or listened to. We're not necessarily talking night and day differences...just the small things that can wear you down over time. Both the speakers and I need more time together to form a more valid opinion, but even at this point I can say without reservation that they have a wonderful tonality (with good material). Their ability to resolve tiny distinctions in massed vocals is impressive to say the least. I spent years with Martin Logan CLS's (Before I used them to finance a career change) so my references are good. I think the ADAMs bring that level of clarity to the table, plus a measure of dynamics, that I never really got from the MLs. The system: -Transporter -Martin Logan Dynamo Subwoofers (x2) -Behringer DEQ 2496 (in the TPs FX loop for bass management) -Canare cabling.
