So far I'm simply delighted with the A7s. The colors, textures and shadings are all there. and that is precisely what I wanted.
I ran REQ (Room EQ Wizard) on them today, and was really impressed with the measured response at my listening position. Even at 1/24 octave...the response variation in MY (11x24) semi-treated room was only a few db either way...and most of it looks like a comb filtering effect. There is a "W" shaped depression centered at 100hz that appears related to the listening position, as moving the mike a foot or two in any direction pretty much eliminates it. I am also happy with the fact the the A7s (and ML subs) sound good everywhere in the room. Naturally, they do BEST in the triangle, but they simply sound good at the kitchen table....at the coffee pot....at the sink. This seems to have been a good purchase decision.
