In that case, assuming you don't find any benefit from digital room
correction, then you are pretty much looking at new speakers. I
wouldn't worry about changing an amp or other items until the speaker
question is settled. 

This may seem obvious, but look for dealers who will let you audition
candidates in your own home. Otherwise you'll just be rolling the dice
on speaker/room compatibility.
