If you could find another £500 (sell your amp and speakers?) you could
get a pair of avi adm9.1 active speakers.

They contain a good dac and 250w of power and go very loud very
cleanly. they contain a preamp with 2 toslink + phono inputs and come
with remote control. there is an optional sub woofer upgrade too.
available in a range of finishes. see google for reviews.

I'm not an owner personally but did have a pair on demo for a month and
was very impressed:

Value per £ they are hard to beat. In fact in general SQ they are hard
to beat unles you start getting into serious hi-fi territory. With all
due respect they are in a completely different league to the
CA/wharfedale stuff.
