Hmmm... my netbook is totally silent and right next to me. I can attach it to a near-silent USB disk in my hi-fi rack (3 metres away) and because it is 3 metres away I can't hear it at all... If I run Foobar (or similar) on the netbook... I'm weird - I like the SBS web UI and that's why I have the netbook next to me.
