@garym, You're the second person to suggest Parasound A21 and this seems a good suggestion. However, I don't like the idea of the P3 to go with it, as it is too noisy in my opinion.
@earwaxer: ICEpower is definitely under consideration, but I would want to audition first, or ensure that there is a good return policy. One idea I'm toying with is the Primare I32 which is class D but may not use the B&O modules (they claim to be doing something special). Right now I don't suffer from shrill highs, and I am somewhat attributing that to the Creek's slightly warm response and the MOSFET output stage. I may be over-estimating what the amp is doing for me, but I do know that the Rega DAC is helping me in that department, compared to a Benchmark DAC1 that I used to have in the same lineup. @Steidl Guitars: Class D yes, but I don't like the maintenance issues with tubes, particularly if there are a lot of them. Having just one or two tubes in a hybrid pre-amp might be okay but that would be my limit. @Mynb: One crazy (and non-audiophile approved) idea I had was to get a multi-channel Pioneer Elite receiver with the ICE amplifiers and use it strictly for two-channel with bi-amping, also making use of the room correction and microphone. This seems like a lot of complexity for what I want to achieve, but I think it contains a lot of the elements that could make for a good system (power, control, room correction, warmish sounding ICE amps). -- dsdreamer ---------------------- "Dreamer, easy in the chair that really fits you..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dsdreamer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12588 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88452 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
