I only want to add something to that point. There seem to be some
humans that can hear 20kHz+ when they are young. But this only counts
for a single tone.
No one is able to detect that tone above 20kHz when it is played in a
music content.
I only can tell that even people that stated they clearly hear up to
20kHz couldn“t detect 18,5kHz lowpassed music on mp3 encoding while we
did testing for lame when it was younger. And there were quiete
sensitive ears beneeth.
