Hi SBGK, I do have sbooster linear ps and yes - totally money well spent. So at least I know to look at DAC before level 1 mods thanks for advice. I haven't delved into hires much (except for SACDs) but sound from Touch is better than my dvd player (sacd). I have tried a couple of free hires and sound is noticably better. My main ambition is to be happy with CD collection backlog, any hires is bonus. I will be ordering soon I expect a repeater/extender & switch such as these http://www.ebuyer.com/220595-netgear-wireless-n-universal-range-extender-wn2000rpt-100uks http://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Link-1005D-port-100Mb-Switch/dp/B0000687B6 to allow turning off WLAN in toolbox. I found this better during testing. If I can get close to sound after testing removal of ethernet from touch then I may settle there. Will look at the Meicord cable as part of this. I am not familiar with usb/spdif convertors although presume requires connecting laptop (or PC) to DAC using a converter and running audiophile music server on laptop? Doesn't sound as convenient for me and having young child in the house. So think I am clear now on what next:- 1) - changing from WLAN to LAN 2) - try out DAC.
