DSD itself is close to a scam , it's real value an effort to copy protection by obscurity sacd ripping is very rare . DSD's many problems makes it very likely to be worse than any PCM format (it is roughly 20bit except for in the extreme treble where it less than 16 bit ). And i can effortlessly be converted to pcm anyway in fact that is what many dacs and players are doing and should be doing ,otherwise you are forced to build 2 separate playback chains in the player/dac and it would just be more expensive for no reason. My next bluray player will be one that supports both SACD and DVDAudio over hdmi as multi channel LPCM , some of the SACD content are also multichannel it would be interesting to sample some of that . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97944 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
