Can we build a complete hifi that does not work and get it up to a million $ . The Dalby may be overqualified , there must be something similarly priced with really horrible performance , suggestion ? My initial suggestion for a DAC to this system is audio notes most expensive one , they have found a way to break DAC design at the core passive I/V conversion with a transformer ( silver of course ) but reality is always worse than I ever imagined so surprise me . Zanden has a horrible DAC but is it expensive enough ,it qualifies as miss engineered anyway http://www.stereophile.com/content/zanden-5000-mkivsignature-da-converter-2000-premium-cd-transport-measurements .
