Yes layers of thd and noise really helps when listening for the small differences and fine details :) it's probably very sensitive to which USB cable you are using . Hifi economy is weird maximum performance is not at maximum price , this amp is outperformed by any ht reciever for example . But it goes with the territory even on unrestricted budget a decent engineer on some of the decent companies runs out of tricks to make it better , I mean power amps if you have that much money buy the best Bryston have in their current line up and all amp " problems " you ever had or imagined that you had are gone . You can play this game in every product category as we know in the category of transports it stops at the Touch :) A decent USB 2 branded cable 10$ , I would look for that seal on an USB cable ,but that's about where it stops , I'll gues some of the more esoteric designs would not actually pass by the USB standard . There is a completely insane preamp to match this , wait until I find the tread . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97944 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
