I've seen brick-wall waveforms in 16/44 turn into slightly less bricky brick-wall waveforms when transcoded to MP3 ... I think it's an artifact of the MP3 conversion, I'm not sure it's a "good" artifact but I'm pretty sure it's not one a "bad" one!
